The Lantern Taverna first opened its doors in 1946 by George Koutas who run the restaurant until the 26th of June 1986 when his son Michael Koutas took over.

The restaurant was transformed into an authentic Cypriot Taverna by Michael, who put a great deal of thought and effort into it. Nowadays, even after Michael’s passing, the Taverna retains its true spirit and atmosphere and continues to accommodate numerous satisfied customers.

We pride our success in offering the highest standard of service and quality menus.It’s our belief that eating at the Lantern Taverna should be a fulfilling and gastronomical experience and with over 58 dishes to sample the choice is endless.

Our menus span across Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon, Armenia and Persia all infused with the passion of the whole Eastern Mediterranean culture. Meze is all about sharing, this traditional style of eating offers a more relaxed way of sampling the many delights the Lantern Taverna has to offer. Adding to the experience we present a great range of Greek and Cypriot wines, some single estate award winners, local beers and of course the ever famous Ouzo from Greece and Zivania from Cyprus.
